Connect Extended
Extended connects through a wallet or with an existing API key and Stark private key. Trade trades USD perpetuals on Extended. This guide covers how to add the account.
Prepare on Extended
Adding with Connect wallet needs nothing else. The wallet doesn’t have to be set up on Extended yet: that happens as you add it.
To add with Enter API key, first get the trading account’s API key and Stark private key on the Extended API management page.
Extended has no API key IP allowlist, so the Add account window doesn’t list an egress IP.
Account mode and position mode
The only account mode is Unified account: USD perpetual contracts, cross margin, one-way mode. On Extended, Trade trades perpetuals only.
Contract leverage is set in the combo, and Trade applies it on the exchange.
Enter it in Trade
In Trade, open Accounts, choose Add account, select Extended, then pick a Connection method. For the general steps, see Connect an exchange.
Connect wallet
Choose Connect wallet to connect your wallet.
Under Trading account, choose Main account or Subaccount. For a sub-account, first sign to read the sub-accounts under this wallet, then select one or choose New sub-account.
Choose Sign and add. Confirm each signature in your wallet as the window prompts. The window says what each step signs, how many signatures remain and any fee a step involves. The trading key and API are generated for you, with nothing to enter by hand.
Manual API
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| API key | The trading account’s API key |
| Stark private key | The Stark private key of the same trading account |
Both methods also need an Account name. Supported markets offers perpetuals only.
Common questions
“This wallet doesn’t have an Extended account yet”
Connect the main account with this wallet first. Once it is set up, come back and add the sub-account.
“The API key or Stark private key is incorrect”
Both must belong to the same trading account. Check them on Extended and enter them again.
