Connect edgeX
Trade uses an edgeX trading account to trade USDC perpetuals. This guide covers what to prepare on edgeX and what to enter in Trade.
Prepare on edgeX
On the edgeX website, open API Management, go to SDK Signer under Perps V2 and generate a set of API keys.
Set a passphrase of your own when you generate them.
Save all four items right away: the API key, API secret, passphrase and private key. They are shown once and must come from the same generation.
If you set an IP allowlist on the key, add your Trade server’s egress IP addresses. The Add account window lists them under Server egress IPs. Choose Copy all egress IPs.
Account mode and position mode
The only account mode is Trading account: cross-margin USDC perpetual contracts, with one set of API keys for each trading account.
Perpetuals use one-way mode, with nothing to set up. Contract leverage is set in the combo, and Trade applies it on the exchange.
Enter it in Trade
In Trade, open Accounts, choose Add account and select edgeX. For the general steps, see Connect an exchange.

Common questions
The API key didn’t pass verification
Check that the API key, API secret, passphrase and signer key all come from the same generation. If one is lost, generate a new set on edgeX.
“The edgeX Signer Key must be a signing private key”
This field takes the private key from the SDK Signer dialog, not the API secret and not a wallet private key.
