Connect Bybit
Trade uses a Bybit Unified Trading Account to trade spot, cross margin and USDT/USDC perpetuals. This guide covers what to prepare on Bybit and what to enter in Trade.
Prepare on Bybit
Upgrade your Bybit account to a Unified Trading Account.
Set its margin mode to Cross margin or Portfolio margin.
Create an API key and choose Read-Write. Tick what the markets you trade need: SPOT - Trade for spot, Contract - Orders and Contract - Positions for contracts, plus USDC Contracts - USDC Derivatives Trading for USDC contracts. To transfer funds in Trade, also tick Wallet - Account Transfer; to transfer between the main account and sub-accounts, also tick Wallet - Subaccount Transfer (on a sub-account’s API key, the item with the same name moves funds back to the main account). Don’t tick Wallet - Withdrawal.
If you bind the key to IP addresses, add your Trade server’s egress IP addresses. The Add account window lists them under Server egress IPs. Choose Copy all egress IPs.
A sub-account is a separate exchange account. Use the sub-account’s own API key and add it in Trade as its own account.
Account mode and position mode
The only account mode is Unified Trading Account: spot, cross margin and USDT/USDC perpetual contracts share one margin balance. A Classic account can’t be saved, and neither can an account whose margin mode is Isolated margin. Trade doesn’t switch the account mode or margin mode for you.
USDT and USDC perpetuals must use Two-way positions. When you save, Trade switches the symbols that have no positions or open orders to hedge mode, then verifies the symbols that do.
Contract leverage is set in the combo, and Trade applies it on the exchange.
Enter it in Trade
In Trade, open Accounts, choose Add account and select Bybit. For the general steps, see Connect an exchange.

Common questions
Saving is refused and a few symbols are listed
Those symbols have positions or open orders and are still in one-way mode. Close the positions and cancel the orders, then save again.
The actual mode shows “Isolated margin”
Change the margin mode on Bybit to Cross margin or Portfolio margin, then save.
The account can’t connect after saving
If you change the margin mode on Bybit to Isolated margin, the account fails the next time it reconnects, and the exchange may reject orders before then. It recovers on its own once you change it back to Cross or Portfolio margin.
