Connect Binance
Trade uses a Binance Portfolio Margin account to trade spot, cross margin and USD-margined perpetuals. This guide covers what to prepare on Binance and what to enter in Trade.
Prepare on Binance
Activate Portfolio Margin on the Binance website.
Create an API key. After you turn Portfolio Margin on or off, create a new API key.
Tick Enable Reading, Enable Spot & Margin Trading and Enable Portfolio Margin Trading. To transfer funds in Trade, also tick Permits Universal Transfer; to transfer between the main account and sub-accounts with the main account’s API key, also tick Enable Internal Transfer. Leave Enable Withdrawals off. Trade does not need withdrawals.
If the key has an IP allowlist, add your Trade server’s egress IP addresses to it. The Add account window lists them under Server egress IPs. Choose Copy all egress IPs.
A sub-account is a separate exchange account. Use the sub-account’s own API key and add it in Trade as its own account.
Account mode and position mode
The only account mode is Portfolio Margin: spot, cross margin and USD-margined perpetual contracts share one pool of margin and risk limits. An account without Portfolio Margin can’t be saved. Trade doesn’t activate or switch the account mode for you.
USD-margined perpetuals must use Two-way positions. Trade verifies this when you save and switches it where Binance allows. If Binance refuses because positions or orders are open, close them, then save again.
Contract leverage is set in the combo, and Trade applies it on the exchange.
Enter it in Trade
In Trade, open Accounts, choose Add account and select Binance. For the general steps, see Connect an exchange.

Choose Verify and add.
Common questions
“A problem with the key, IP allowlist or permissions”
Binance returns the same error for all three causes. Check that the API key was copied in full, the server egress IPs are on the allowlist, and the permissions in step 3 are ticked.
“Account mode does not match the exchange”
This Binance account doesn’t have Portfolio Margin yet. Activate it on the Binance website, create a new API key, then save again.
