FAQ

Quick answers to common questions. The other guides cover each topic in full.

Funds and keys

Does ZML hold my funds?

No. Your funds stay in your exchange accounts. Trade places orders there with the API access you grant.

Where are my API keys stored?

On your server, in Trade. They are never sent to ZML, and ZML has no login to your server.

What does Trade send to ZML?

Trade sends operating and usage data to ZML to deliver updates and support; the terms of service and the privacy policy describe it. API keys and exchange credentials are never included.

Does Trade cost anything?

Trade is free to use, with no subscription. Pairing it with Z Market Lab and sending opportunities to Trade are free too; a Z Market Lab account is all you need. Trading on certain exchanges carries a small service fee, shown when you connect a wallet and grant authorization. Exchange trading fees apply as usual.

Running Trade

What happens when my server restarts?

Trade starts again by itself. Running combos trade from their parameters and don’t resume earlier orders. Any difference with the exchange shows up in reconciliation.

How do I stop a combo at once?

Choose Stop. It takes effect at once. Stopping doesn’t close positions; it keeps the combo position and parameters. It also doesn’t wait for the exchange to cancel orders: if an order still open when you stop fills before it is cancelled, that fill isn’t counted in the combo’s position, and the difference shows up in reconciliation. Choose Run to start again from a clean state.

How does Trade update?

Trade installs only signed releases. New installs update automatically by default as soon as a new version arrives. You can switch to manual updates and pick your own time, but a new version is still installed within 7 days of arriving. Urgent fixes that ZML marks as mandatory install without waiting. The database is backed up before the switch.

I forgot the administrator password.

Run curl -fsSL --compressed https://api.zmarketlab.com/install.sh -o install.sh && sudo bash install.sh --reset-admin on the server and enter a new password when prompted. Two-factor sign-in is turned off at the same time; exchange keys, combos and history are kept.

Can I try Trade before installing it?

Yes. The online trial shows the Trade interface with no exchange connected. It is read-only.

Z Market Lab

Do I need Z Market Lab to use Trade?

No. Trade runs on its own. Once you pair it with your Z Market Lab account, you can send opportunities from Z Market Lab to Trade, with no subscription.

Does a received opportunity place orders?

The signal itself places no orders; your signal settings in Trade decide what happens next. If a source creates combos automatically and Auto-open after creation is on, the new combo starts by itself and places orders from its parameters. Otherwise a new combo is created in reduce-only and you decide when to start it.

Which languages are supported?

Trade and Z Market Lab are available in every listed language. Support is available in Chinese and English.
