API key no longer valid

The exchange rejected an account’s API key and that account’s connection is down. Replace the key on the Accounts page in Trade.

What it means

The exchange rejected this account’s API key. The account’s connection is down and the account can’t trade until it is back. Trade sends a notification to every enabled channel, and a Resolved message once the connection recovers.

Why it happens

The key was deleted or expired on the exchange, or its permissions were removed.

What to do

  1. Check the key’s status on the exchange. Create a new key if needed, enabling the permissions listed in the API key section of the edit-account window and leaving withdrawals disabled.

  2. In Trade, open Accounts, choose Edit account, enter the new key and save.

Trade verifies the key again when you save. If that fails, see Exchange verification didn’t pass. For the requirements, see Connect an exchange.
